IN response to Anthony Peers’ letter in last week’s Journal, I would like to apologise to him and his fellow Nel Pan Lane residents for the inconvenience caused by the loose stone chippings used in the recent surfacing treatment.
Our contractors have used the same method used throughout the country for many years which usually provides the most efficient and economical way of treating surfaces.
However the treatment at Nel Pan Lane has failed, resulting in bare patches where the chippings have become loose.
We have spoken to the contractor, who will be carrying out the necessary remedial works to fix the problem.
Until then they have been instructed to clear any loose chippings.
