AFTER going to The Gardeners Arms in Atherton for more than 40 years, I have seen lots of landlords come and go.

The current management, which has been in charge since November, has been a breath of fresh air, transforming the pub in such a short space of time.

The food that is served has improved and many events have been run, including charity fundraisers – the last one generated about £500, which is a great achievement for one night.

The two sisters that run the pub had not worked in the industry before but their friendly nature and kindness has made the atmosphere of The Gardeners Arms so much better than it was before. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
