I AM writing in the hope that your readers may be able to assist a friend of mine, Kevin Carlin, and I in locating former Liverpool FC player Alec Lindsay.

He managed The Foundry Arms in Leigh quite some time ago but Kevin has heard that Alec is back in the Leigh area.

I would like to get in touch with Alec to ask if he will sign his picture in my Liverpool Player by Player book.

I have been obtaining various former players’ signatures for quite some time now and have written to many worldwide.

It’s a hobby and a bit of a challenge.

I am 74 years old, have a Liverpool season ticket and have followed the Reds since my first game in 1955.

Several months ago Kevin and I attended a sports night in Liverpool. He bid for and got a FA Cup Final signed shirt and the only two signatures missing were John Toshack’s and Alec’s.

He is now trying to obtain both.
