I WAS party to a conversation regarding the proposed sale of Tyldesley Top Chapel.

It seems astounding it could be bought for a measly 50,000, with £188,200 given to develop it as a community centre, and then be sold 14 months later with a price tag of £210,000.

Surely the sale and the funding came with caveats preventing the sale for anything other than community use.

Not to mention the £188,200 for community funding which should surely be returned as it has not been used as designated and could be used for other projects.

If I was a cynic I would suggest there was never any intention to develop the chapel and this was just a money making exercise at the expense of Tyldesley people.
