I AM writing to say how disappointed I am with the imminent closure of the Yorkshire Bank in Leigh.
I have been with this bank for nearly 30 years and have always had excellent service.
I do use online banking, but why is it closing?
Are we expected to go to Wigan now if we need to deposit a cheque or to get advice or speak to someone personally?
Is this meant to encourage us to do our shopping in Wigan?
I don’t think so, as just like Leigh there are many empty shops there.
Having walked down Bradshawgate recently I counted 18 empty shops, which is disgraceful.
This building will just be another one.
I have now moved my account to another bank in Leigh so I can still get a personal service should I need it.
