OUR property backs onto the guided busway between Holden Road and Lilford Park in Leigh.

Our quality of life is constantly disturbed by the ever growing number of scrambler bikes and high-powered motorcycles now using the bridle path as a shortcut to Tyldesley and the East Lancashire Road.

This is happening at all hours of the day and in the middle of the night as well.

We have made many complaints to Transport for Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester Police and Wigan Council, highlighting that it is an accident waiting to happen.

There is a danger to the numerous members of the general public who use the busway and bridle path as a leisure facility, not as a race track.

So far there doesn’t seem to be anything being done to stop these incidents by the relevant parties, who in my opinion all have an equal share of responsibility to ensure the safety of the general public on the busway and all footpaths that lead to and from the bridle path.

lf you add in the anti-social behaviour such as stone throwing, the bad language that we hear and even youths wading in the brook under the bridge, all is not as it should be on the busway.

I would like to ask if any other Journal readers are experiencing any of these problems.

If anyone is please report incidents to the services named above.
