I HAVE lived in Leigh all my life and I am proud of it.
Over the years I have seen many changes to the town centre, more bad than good.
Since when has the town centre consisted only of Bradshawgate? It has only become the main shopping area due to the neglect of other main roads.
For instance the Turnpike House in Market Street is an utter disgrace. The windows are smashed and boarded up – sooner or later someone is going to get hurt from falling glass and other debris.
And all this in plain sight of the town hall and the office of our recently elected Member of Parliament.
I suggest that some of the money that has been allocated for the regeneration of Leigh town centre be used to address this eyesore and restore some pride to our town.
