I HAVE recently had a bad experience with a company advertising it has been in business in the area for more than 30 years.

When I first contacted the business their representative was charming and promised a professional job and agreed for them to carry out work which cost thousands of pounds.

I was left with an ill-fitting guttering which dripped at the join and overflowed when it rained and can only hope the actual roof work is fit for purpose.

I was not sent a written confirmation, guarantee or receipt despite the representative saying I would receive them.

He also promised me the faults would be repaired, but after three months of waiting I had the repairs done by another tradesman recommended to me.

I warn readers to be careful when taking on tradesmen even if they appear to be genuine and reputable.
