HAVING read the Journal’s recent story about fireman Alex Green fighting for his life in Magaluf, it makes me angry when I hear of British people having to pay for medical treatment in European hospitals.
Should the same thing happen here treatment would be given immediately and in full without thought of payment.
This has always been the case in my experience.
Why is it so one-sided?

IT makes me really angry when I hear of British people needing urgent or life-saving treatment in European hospitals and having to pay or raise funds to have the necessary care.
Should the roles reverse the UK will treat the unfortunate person immediately, carrying out any necessary tests and operations without thought of payment.
Why do we have this imbalance? It is so wrong.
