She's a young Tory.

SIR, I've just read the Journal story about the new Conservative party candidate chosen to fight for them in Leigh.

I couldn't help but notice how young Shazia Awan looks, I don't think she could have been around in 1984 when her chosen party was busy tearing the heart out of Leigh and countless other towns across the North of England.

For this young Lady to say we deserve an M.P. who will listen to them is an insult to our present M.P.

Andy Burnham has been an excellent M.P. for us. He was instrumental in getting the Sports Village and has always been available for contact with the people of Leigh. Astley Mosley Common Councillor Sean Ell says we are fed up with Labour, although I don't remember telling him that.

I suspect that at midnight on election night this young lady will be on the train out of it, to join the rest of the Tory no hopers of recent years.

Your comments are obviously meant tongue in cheek readings your last paragraph, quote, "I suspect that at midnight on election night this young lady will be on the train out of it, to join the rest of the Tory no hopers of recent years"
I think the last passenger train to leave Leigh was over 40 years ago?
