SIR, In response to Geoff Hamlett's letter in the July 29 issue of the Journal.
I disagree with Geoff Hamlett. The road system in Atherton is not 'slowly killing off this once vibrant town'.
It HAS killed off the town.
I would do anything to avoid going anywhere near the town centre. I live in Atherton and would have to pass through five sets of traffic lights before parking in the centre. No thank you - I'll go to Middlebrook.
We were told this was a trial. Who decided it had passed? Probably someone living in Wigan.
Geoff is right - just look at Westhoughton.
