RE the article on Page 3 of the Journal (Dec 1) regarding 'OAPs' anger over mud bath tracks'.

I can confirm the Environment Agency Operations Delivery team based at Bedford Pumping Station, Leigh have cleared 1,530kg of debris consisting of shopping trolleys, general waste and building debris from the watercourse and mechanically de-weeded 300 metres of heavily vegitated watercourse on Penleach Brook.
Maintenance work is programmed and carried out on an annual basis and the team also respond regularly to blockages that are reported.
