DAVID JAMES ATHERTON Peacefully at Blackburn Royal Hospital on 17th September 2020, Dave, aged 62years, passed away with his loving wife Lorraine, son Chris, daughter Rachael and daughter in law Jasmine by his side. Dearly loved Grandad to Lily, Jack and Annie. Brother to John, Gary, Janet and Mark. "He will be sadly missed by all who knew him." A private funeral service will take place on Friday, 2nd October 2020 at Howe Bridge Crematorium chapel at 2.0pm followed by interment at Howe Bridge Cemetery. Family flowers only by request. Donations, if desired, in Dave's memory to "The Christie" hospital c/o the family. Due to the covid 19 restrictions, we would like to ask that anyone wishing to pay their respects to form a line on Leigh road from Leigh to Atherton (Green Hill) where the cortege will pass. I am shocked and saddened on hearing of Dave passing away. I enjoyed the short time we worked together. We had some funny times and boy could he dish it out but he could take it as well.. He did his best in what ever he turned his hand to. He loved his family. A great bloke to know.I have some great memories of him. How i wish id caught up with him for one more beer and a chat. You will be missed Dave. Condolences to all of his family. Paul.
