A Beckham ran the London Marathon today, and no it wasn’t David, Victoria or Brooklyn but their second eldest son Romeo, who competed in the children’s race.
The 12-year-old, who made headlines when he appeared in fashion retailer Burberry’s Christmas advert, was cheered on by his doting family as he ran the Mini London Marathon, which takes place over the final three miles of the full course and is set for children aged 11 to 17.
Wearing Team Romeo T-shirts, his family looked overjoyed as he successfully completed the course in 18 minutes and 54 seconds.
Older brother Brooklyn, 16, later posted this photo on Instagram, writing that he had raised an impressive £6,000 for UNAIDS, the joint United Nations programme on Aids, and David’s Unicef 7 fund.
Mum Victoria also posted her message of support on Twitter which read “we are so proud!”.
The mother-of-four sported a leather biker jacket, skinny faded grey jeans and high heeled ankle boots to complement her Team Romero shirt.
David, on the other hand, was more casual in a green jacket, dark jeans and a black beanie hat.
Despite the wet and rainy weather, family and friends were there to cheer on Romeo during his big moment.
It’s worth noting that previous winners of the Mini London Marathon include double London 2012 Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah. Could this mean Romeo, like his talented dad, could be a sporting hero in the making?
