FOR a launch title, ZombiU will succeed in showcasing just what the dual-screen action of the new console can achieve, as well as scaring the living daylights out of you.
A potent combination.
How long you survive in the labyrinth of London streets and underground tunnels as the infected close in around you will largely depend on your ability to keep hold of all your weaponry as you progress through the game.
Starting out with just the quintessentially English combo of pistol and cricket bat, when you die your items are retained by your now-undead corpse. With only one chance to retrieve them by killing this enemy, the pressure and challenge really mounts if you fail.
Throw in the nice, panicky addition of the controller screen, which deliberately takes your eye off the main action, and you can feel a unique take on a well-worn genre has been realised. 4/5
