A TEACHER from Atherton has appeared at Bolton Crown Court in relation to a string of sex allegations.
Maths teacher Andrew Welsh, aged 35, was arrested after he was allegedly found in a girl’s bedroom on July 19.
He was subsequently charged with six counts of sexual activity with a girl aged 16 while being in a position of trust.
Welsh, of Highbank, Atherton, taught at a Bolton high school but was suspended from his post when the allegations, said to have been committed between May 21 and July 19 last year, came to light.
Welsh attended a preliminary hearing at Bolton Crown Court and was granted bail until March 21 when he will make another appearance in court.
