FIREFIGHTERS have announced further strikes in an ongoing dispute over changes to their pensions.
They are due to take industrial action, which means there will be greatly reduced fire cover across the country for eight days starting on Saturday, August 9.
The strikes will take place from noon until 2pm and from 10.59pm to 11.59pm with the last being on Saturday, August 16.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have said that this will mean that they will be responding differently to emergencies.
They will have limited fire engines available and firefighters riding them will not be trained to the same level as our current crews and are encouraging residents to take extra care during these times.
