A WRITING group has joined forces with a production company to produce a video commemorating the centenary of the First World War.

Tyldesley Creative Writers and Emma Costello of Costello Productions have produced a film on DVD called A Commemoration of the Centenary Anniversary of WW1 which will be available to view at Tyldesley Library from Monday.

The group also presented the library with a television for its users to view the film which is full of factual information about The Great War which is presented by fictional characters who tell their stories in the form of sketches, monologues and poems created by members of the group.

Tyldesley Library manager, Marlene Chadwick, said: "I really enjoyed watching excerpts of the film which is of excellent quality and professionally produced. On behalf of the library, I would like to thank Tyldesley Creative Writers for this very special commemorative gift."
