COMPUTERS are a boon for petition organisers.

Following the people's revolt against Tony Blair's 'pay-as-you-drive' toll policy on the Downing Street website which crashed under the weight of over one million protests another electronic petition has been set up - to vote for an extra day off.

An e-mail is circulating asking people to vote to make St George's Day on April 23 a national bank holiday in future years.

Anyone in agreement is asked to vote and then pass the message on to as many people as possible.

The site www.stgeorgesday.com/voting.asp needs at least 500,000 votes for the government to take it seriously and give us another holiday.

I'm definitely up for that.
