Against Leeds-based Farsley, the display was much more solid in the first half, cast-iron chances limited to Ryan Sugden's stretching effort in the third minute, which the former Halifax man could not redirect goalwards.
Leigh improved the attacking phase of their play after half-time and although their first opening was from outside the penalty area, it was a half-chance nevertheless. Chris Simm found Hugh McAuley and the midfielder plundered the ball narrowly wide of the Celtic goal.
Simm was involved in the goal too - scoring on 82 minutes with a tap-in after Owen Roberts had produced the graft with a charging 60-yard run from the full-back berth.
RMI had ridden their luck shortly before going in front but could not do it in injury-time as an ugly looking ball forward was turned home by Reeves to produce a division of the points.
