FIREMEN, police and a vet were on hand and not afraid to get their hands dirty in this 1960s picture taken at Howe Bridge.
“I remember being sent out to a field off Eckersley Fold Lane which is beside the present day sports centre.
“A horse had fallen down a shaft in a field but after a lot of heaving rescuers hauled the horse clear and it survived,” recalled photographer Brian Cockram.
WHERE are they now? All we know is the photograph was taken during one of the Journal’s annual sorties to summertime holiday hotspots in North Wales.
We captured happy holidaymakers at Butlins holiday camp in Pwllheli probably sometime in the late 1960s or early 70s.
