TWO men have been arrested following an assault in Leigh.
Shortly before 4.30am on Friday 11 September 2015, a 24-year-old man was standing at the taxi rank on Railway Road in Leigh when he was approached by a man, who then punched him in the face.
The man tried to defend himself, shielding his face with his hand, but a second man approached him and also punched him in the face. The man tried to get to safety and a third man approached him and punched him to his ribs.
The victim suffered a dislocated finger and injuries to his face.
Two 20-year-old men have been arrested on suspicion of section 47 assault and have been bailed until the end of February pending further enquiries.
A 19-year-old man who was arrested previously on suspicion of a section 47 assault in connection with this assault has been bailed until 29 March 2016.
