AN Atherton resident was given a month’s free travel and a Vantage goody bag for being the guided busway’s 150,000th customer.
Yvonne Sixsmith became the milestone passenger as she boarded the V2 service at Bag Lane heading towards Manchester on Monday morning.
After being presented with her prize by bus driver Phil Ainsworth from Tyldesley, Yvonne said: “I love the new Vantage service.
“It’s fast and reliable and I can even charge up my phone with the new USB charging ports.”
More than 4,500 people a day have been using the busway since its launch on April 3.
Lord Peter Smith, leader of Wigan Council, said: “Having 150,000 passengers on the busway is a significant milestone and shows the Vantage service is already proving very popular with passengers.
“I have used the service myself and I would encourage others to give it a go.”
