A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after a fire engulfed a house last night.
Police and four fire engines were called to Devon Street in Leigh at around 8pm.
It took two hours to put the fire out and no-one was injured in the incident.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers attended and arrested a man nearby on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
"He remains in custody for questioning."
A JustGiving page has been set up to try to raise £2,000 for Danielle Williams, who lives at the house with her three primary school age children.
A relative says they have 'lost everything' in the fire, including Christmas presents, toys and clothes, and were not at home when the blaze took hold.
On the JustGiving page Maxine Wilkinson, Danielle's cousin, said: "Thankfully Danielle and her three children were not at home.
"Her house and belongings have all been lost.
"There is fire and water damage.
"We are trying to raise money for Danielle Williams to get new household items and clothes for herself and her three children.
"No matter how big or small, every little helps."
