A MAN has been ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work after admitting driving a car while banned and under the influence of a drug.
James Hadland, of Gleneagles Close, Lowton, had 3.8 micrograms per litre of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the primary psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, in his blood when driving without a licence or insurance in Leigh on February 2.
The 21-year-old was given a community order by Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
As well as carrying out the unpaid work Hadland has to adhere to a rehabilitation activity requirement and pay an £85 victim services surcharge and £85 court costs.
He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 28 months.
