ROTARY clubs in the area are appealing for people to donate medical equipment to them that they no longer need.

The Rotary Club of Leigh is inviting people to drop off items such as wheelchairs, crutches zimmer frames at the Tesco Extra store at The Loom on Sunday, February 18 from 10am to 4pm.

The Tyldesley with Atherton Rotary Club will be having a collection at DRB Photos on Elliot Street at the same time.

After collecting the equipment, the clubs will then transfer the equipment to a Wigan Council department which will clean, repair and refurbish them so they can be used again by the NHS.

If the items are too large or heavy, the organisations will make arrangements with the hospital to be collected.

Medicines, tablets and bandages cannot be accepted.
