A HOSPITALITY company has been fined more than £50,000 for health and safety offences.
Here For You Hospitality, which own the Greyhound Hotel in Leigh pleaded guilty to ten offences relating to its Escape Zone Leisure Club following a Wigan Council investigation.
The Warrington Road facility was prosecuted for failure to provide suitable training for staff members and not having suitable and sufficient risk assessments in place.
It was also punished for not having a pool safety operating procedure.
Out of the 10 offences, the company was fined for three of them at a cost of £16,000 each.
Costs of £4,742.37 and a victim surcharge of £120 were awarded to the council leading to a total fine of £52.862.67.
Cllr Kevin Anderson, cabinet member for environment at the council, said: “This is a great result for our team who have pursued a lengthy investigation.
“We will always work with businesses to support them in complying with legal requirements and have been working closely with the company to address the issues.”
The case was heard at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
The Greyhound Hotel has also been put up for sale recently.
Here For You Hospitality are looking for offers in the region of £2.95 million.
