A MAN has been jailed for 12 months after being found with a sword in a public place in Leigh.
Mark Critchley, of Maple Crescent, Leigh, carried the blade on Furnival Street on March 28.
The 47-year-old also had an offensive three-foot cylinder weapon in his possession on the same day.
He was given six months for each count and ordered to pay a victim services surcharge fee of £115.
Critchley was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
