POLICE were called to a park yesterday, Tuesday, after a group of "young" men were allegedly hitting golf balls at swans.
Officers were sent to Pennington Flash Country Park on St Helens Road in Leigh to deal with the incident.
The same group have also been accused of driving dangerously in the car park.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Cruelty to animals is not acceptable- swans are protected species.
"If you witness this behaviour, know any of these people, or collect any number plates contact the police on 101."
