AN open air promenade theatre musical is set to take centre stage.

Tim Beasley and Sherry Hughes’ adaptation of the classic Wind In The Willows will be held at Pennington Flash Country Park in Leigh from next Wednesday, August 8 until Sunday, August 12.

There will be evening performances at 6pm, from August 8 to August 11, and matinee shows at 2pm on all of the dates apart from next Thursday.

The play is being run by Stolen Thread Productions CIC, who secured funding from Arts Council England to put on the musical.

A Will and a Way Acting School, which is based in Atherton, has also played a part in offering people in the area roles in the ensemble cast.

Will Travis, owner of A Will and A Way acting school and member of the Stolen Thread Productions CIC, said: “I personally can’t wait to bring this re-make of an old classic and firm family favourite to the people of this region.

""For too long we’ve been overlooked and we here at Stolen Thread are very keen to remedy this, hence the reason why the tickets for this event are aimed at inclusivity.

"We're hoping that people will come in their droves to enjoy this fabulous show.

"The piece will be ideal for all age groups, and let’s hope that the weather will be kind to us.”
