ST MARY's Catholic High School has praised its students for some "phenomenal results" in their GCSEs.
A number of pupils at the Astley school have been awarded multiple Grade 9s in their exams- the highest mark possible in the new grading system which was introduced last year.
Amy Crook was the Manchester Road school's highest achiever with seven Grade 9s and three Grade 8s.
A school spokesman said: "We are very proud of everyone for their hard work and dedication and, as a result, there have been some phenomenal results from our students.
"It's not just the top grade students who have done well, everyone has put the effort in and really gone above and beyond in a challenging year.
"We wish every single one of the students all the best as they move through to St Mary’s Sixth Form College in the next important phase of their education."

Erin Huxley: Four Grade 8s, five Grade 7s and one Grade 6
Christian Sula: Two Grade 9s, three grade 8s, two Grade 6s and two Grade 5
