THE Rotary Club of Tyldesley with Atherton is giving away books tomorrow, Saturday.
Children will be able to pick up used books on Market Square in Tyldesley from 10am to 1pm.
Figures from the National Literacy Trust indicate that one in eight of the most disadvantaged children in Greater Manchester do not have a book of their own.
A lack of literacy skills also has links with developing a higher chance of suffering with depression.
There will be children's games and refreshments provided by Kings Church Centre at the event and craft shop Chic Ribbon and Scroll will offer a range of activities.
