RUGBY League fans are being called on to pay a special tribute to a young Wigan Warriors fan during the Grand Final.

The family of Presley Stockton have asked to applaud during the fourth minute of Saturday's game in his memory.

The four-year-old from Hindley tragically drowned in a "packed" swimming pool at a Tenerife hotel while on holiday with his extended family last month.

His funeral will take place this week where he will be laid to rest in his Wigan Warriors kit.

Many fans have shared a Facebook post saying it would be "truly amazing if our rugby league family could help pay tribute to little Presley" during the Grand Final after the request was posted on social media on behalf of his granddad Mike Jolley.

The post adds: "Presley was a much loved little boy and his family are devastated at his sudden loss.

"Please could we show our respects to this little warrior by clapping on the 4th min #LittleWarrior."
