Police were called to Silk Street in Leigh at around 10.15am on Saturday
A WOMAN's handbag and purse was snatched from her car on Saturday morning.
Police were sent to Silk Street in Leigh near the post office at around 10.15am where a thief had opened the passenger side door of a car belonging to a woman in her 70s.
The culprit had taken a handbag and purse from the seat. The purse has since been recovered.
The victim was not touched or harmed in the incident.
