THE Burton Menswear store in Leigh town centre is set for closure - with its owners citing a mission to increase the chain's "digital presence".

The shop, on Bradshawgate, is to close its doors, confirmed Burton owners the Arcadia Group.

Journal readers expressed concern over speculation of the store's upcoming closure on January 5.

An Arcadia spokeswoman confirmed the closure to the Journal.

"Our click and collect service across the brands is also proving a successful way of helping our customers collect their purchases at a location most convenient to them.

"We endeavour to offer current staff other employment options within the Arcadia Group."

Brands owned by the Arcadia Group include Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Miss Selfridge, Topman, Topshop, Wallis and out of town chain Outfit.
