A DRIVER who failed to stop after being involved in a crash with a cyclist has been banned.
Ryan Blinkhorn, of Pennington Road, Leigh, was driving a Peugeot 206 on Friday, August 24 on Siddow Common at around 11.30am when he collided with a cyclist- a 39-year-old woman.
The 22-year-old did not stop at the scene but went to Wigan Police Station on the same day to speak about the incident.
The woman was taken to hospital with head injuries.
Blinkhorn, who was sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court last Wednesday, also admitted to not having a licence for the type of vehicle he was driving and not being insured to drive it.
The defendant was disqualified from driving for 12 months, ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and was told to pay a victim services surcharge fee of £85 and court costs of £85.
