A SHOPLIFTER has been jailed after carrying out three assaults.
Marie Darbyshire, of Glebe Street, Leigh, admitting committing 14 thefts and three assaults in the town between September 18 and October 15.
The 39-year-old committed the thefts in Asda, Aldi and DW Sports in Leigh which included alcohol, meat, clothing.
The total value of the items stolen by Darbyshire amounted to £813.99.
Goods that were taken from the stores include alcohol as well as food such as meat and confectionary.
An iron and clothing including a coat are among other products that were taken.
The assaults took place on September 18, September 27 and October 2.
The defendant, who appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Thursday, was given a sentence of four months.
She has also been ordered to pay a victim services surcharge fee of £115.
