THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder this morning, Tuesday, after a house was set on fire last week.
Warrants were carried out in Leigh and Tyldesley where the men, aged 19, 22 and 37, were taken into custody.
The arrests follow an incident in the early hours of last Tuesday when windows at a house on Montreal Close in Leigh were smashed and a flammable liquid was thrown inside and set alight.
A couple who live at the home escaped the fire but the woman- who is in her 60s- was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
It is believed she has suffered life-changing injuries.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of attempted murder but has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
The three men who were arrested are currently being questioned by police.
