BUSINESSES in the borough will be given a tour around community groups next week to see how they can lend their support.

On Thursday, November 1, companies will be visiting the homes of sites such as Dorset Road Community Centre in Atherton, Lancashire Mining Museum in Astley Green and Hope View Sensory Farm in Astley.

It is part of Wigan Council's The Deal for Business which arranges an annual tour in a bid to get companies to develop relationships with the volunteer sector and take a look at how organisations help people's lives.

Wigan Council leader Cllr David Molyneux said: “Encouraging businesses to work with the community and voluntary sector is key to building and maintaining a strong borough that we can be even more proud of.

“The Deal for Business is a mutually beneficial resource and we encourage even more businesses no matter how big or small to get involved and help us thrive.”

Earlier this year more than a dozen business took part in a tour which included CRISP Chapter One Tearooms in Hindley and the Friends of Hindley Station.
