PLANS have been made to turn a former nursery into a hotel.
A change-of-use application has been submitted to convert the former Buttons And Bows Private Day Nursery And PreSchool in Atherton, which closed earlier this year, into a 13-bedroom hotel.
A planning statement for the Hamilton Street site says the applicant aims to "attract private clientele on typical short term basis, whether travelling for work or staying to visit friends/family."
It added: "There is a given need for a building of this type as the nearest hotels which could serve the town are at least three miles away in the nearby town of Leigh."
The applicant is Geoff Browne, director of Impressed Laundry, which is based at The Common in Tyldesley.
Seven car parking spaces would be provided on site. The application stated there is car parking available on the street and there are no restrictions.
All the bedrooms at the property would be ensuite.
A neighbourhood consultation is currently in place with a decision on the proposals set to be made on December 18.
