PLANS have been submitted to turn three floors of the Burton Menswear building in Leigh town centre into flats.
A change-of use application has been sent to the local authority to convert the first, second and third floors of the Bradshawgate store into six flats.
A planning document states: "It is intended to retain the ground floor shop area with the view of re-letting this area for retail space."
Last month, Burton' owner, the Arcadia Group, refused to confirm if the store is due to close in January.
A decision on the application is expected to be made on December 20.
