A BANNED driver who failed to stop after being involved in a car crash in Leigh has been jailed.
Gary Cooper, of Liverpool Road, Irlam, was driving a BMW 116 on Guest Street on April 13 when he became involved in a collision which injured the other driver.
The 36-year-old, who was behind the wheel of a car within seven months of a two-year ban on the road, carried on driving.
The defendant also admitted driving without due care and attention.
Appearing at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court yesterday, Wednesday, Cooper was sent to prison for 24 weeks.
He was also disqualified from driving for 28 months and ordered to pay a victim services surcharge fee of £115.
