ASTLEY Hire in Leigh has handed out funds to charities for the second year in a row.
The Jury Street company was founded 52 years ago by the Dorricott family. Brothers Stephen and Michael Dorricott, have now provided funds for a number of organisations.
They include Wigan and Leigh Pensioners Link, Addaction, The Brick, United Response and Higher Folds Luncheon Club
In June, the industrial hire company distributed application forms to local charities and individuals in need to offer them a chance to apply for extra funds.
The successful applicants were chosen by a judging panel at Astley Hire’s depot.
Director Stephen Dorricott said: "This is the 2nd year of our charity foundation following on from the success last year where we supported some excellent charities.
"We are very proud to continue giving to some excellent causes.
"It's very humbling to witness the hard work of all the volunteers and support staff who work with so much dedication.
"Without these people most of the charities would not be possible."
