Residents have came together to pay their respects at Remembrance Day services across the county.

Parades were held in Conwy, Llandudno and Colwyn Bay to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the First World War and the mark 100 years since the guns fell silent at 11am on November 11, 1918.

Hundreds turned out to the parades in their area with Llandudno boasting some of the biggest numbers they have seen at any Remembrance Fay service in the town's history.

Colwyn Bay and Conwy also had large crowds turn out to pay their respects at their respective events.

A number of smaller events and wreath laying ceremonies were also held across the Conwy county.

Churches, charity and volunteer groups and even businesses held a variety of events for Remembrance Day.

Chairman of Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC), cllr Peter Lewis, said it was great to see so many people turn out to the various events across the county, especially being a special year.

Cllr Lewis said: "It was fitting to see everyone join in observing the two minutes silence, and commemorations organised by communities across the county with greater attendance - as it was even more significant this year, marking 100 years since the end of the First World War.”
