BODNANT Welsh Food Centre are giving customers the chance to pick up some of their award-winning produce at a discounted price this month as closure looms for the business.

Throughout November, fans of fine Welsh food can enjoy enticing deals at the centre including 20% off all farm shop stock and 10% off all wines on offer.

The centre, opened by Prince Charles in 2012, is expected to close at the end of the month, unless a buyer can be found.

Owners Michael and Caroline McLaren have confirmed the business has faced "intense financial pressures over a significant period".

A number of customer enquiries have been made regarding the status of upcoming events due to take place including breakfast with Santa, cookery classes and weddings.

According to Bodnant officials, "Most events planned in November will continue to run but where an event has been cancelled, BWFC will be in touch with the individuals who made the original bookings."

They added that "Urgent consideration" is being given to all events planned after November, and the outcome of these will be dependant on whether a purchaser can be found.

Over the course of the next month, the company will continue to trade while a purchaser is sought through an accelerated sales process handled by accounting firm Smith and Cooper.

The Bodnant Welsh Food Centre prides itself on selling local produce such as cheese made from milking cows that graze less than a mile away.

The centre, open 9am-5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am-4.30pm on Sunday, has been awarded several gold stars for its meat and dairy products.
