AROUND 1,500 people flocked to the annual Leigh Comic Con event on Saturday.

Fans were treated to a range of entertainment with famous characters in attendance at Leigh Sports Village from 10am to 4pm.

Power Rangers star Samuel Benta, Game of Thrones’ Clive Russell and actor Tom Clarke Hill were special guests on the day.

Chase from Paw Patrol and Transformers’ Bumblebee were also there at the family-friendly event.

A range of stalls selling themed goods were on display too as well as vintage arcade machines.

A cosplay competition also took place and visitors took advantage of photo opportunities.

Event organiser Paul Prescott said: “Everyone enjoyed themselves at the event and hopefully we can build on this going forward.”

The following day characters from the event pleased fans by taking part in the reindeer parade in Leigh town centre.

Not-for-profit organisation The Heroic Alliance also raised £300 for children's charity Make-A-Wish Foundation as well.
