A THIEF who racially abused a PCSO officer has been handed a community order.
Christopher Holden, of Lever Street, Tyldesley admitted to abusing the officer in Leigh on September 5 which magistrates decided was racially aggravated.
When he appeared at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on Monday, the 30-year-old also pleaded guilty to stealing clothes to the value of £75 in Tyldesley on Saturday.
By committing the offences, Holden breached a community service order imposed on him last July for stealing a pair of glasses in Specsavers in Leigh.
He has been told to complete a drug rehabilitation requirement order.
The defendant was also fined £50, ordered to pay a compensation fee of £50 and court costs of £85.
