THE curtain will be raised for Turnpike Community Theatre’s sell-out production of Sleeping Beauty next week.

The shows will be on stage at the The Turnpike in Leigh town centre from Wednesday, December 12 to Saturday, December 15.

Due to tickets selling out quickly, an extra date was put on to accommodate the demand.

Chairman and creative director Neil Gredecki said: "Turnpike Community Theatre has a long history of performing in the Leigh area over the past 34 years.

"We now have a strong local following and ensure we perform scripts that people want and enjoy.

"We have been very pleased with the ticket sales this year which reinforces the value and need for community theatre in the area.

"In recent years we have gone from strength to strength and we are pleased to have developed strong relationships with The Turnpike to allow us to have a performance space at the heart of the local community.

"Next year we will be celebrating our 35-year anniversary.

"We are currently finalising the production schedule for a year which we hope showcases the work of the group, as well provides an opportunity for the Leigh community to celebrate live theatre at the heart of the town."

Details about forthcoming productions will be announced in January.
