A CHARITY that provides support for people with learning disabilities, mental health problems, mobility issues and early-onset Alzheimer’s has received a generous donation to help transform its base.

Risley-based A-Plant, a tool and equipment hire company, has donated a number of items to the Walton Lea Project to help with essential building work.

The team have donated a bicycle workshop and office, toilet facilities, a router, five different saws and a cordless drill.

It has also been agreed that A-Plant will dismantle a modular building, which has had to close on the site, and relocate the facility to a new area.

John Moore, project manager at A-Plant, said: “Vinci are building a new cinema complex in Warrington’s Bridge Street Quarter.

“They looked at one of Walton Lea’s sites and said it needed some attention.

“They approached us and I know of the work Walton Lea do so I was more than happy to help.”

The improvements to the site will help the charity provide more work activities for adults and young people with learning disabilities.
