A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of Aron Warren in Greenwich.

Police were called to Topham House in Prior Street on December 8 to reports a boy had been stabbed and was unresponsive.

Aron, 18, was pronounced dead 40 minutes later.

A 16-year-old boy was charged today with the murder of Aron and also with robbery.

He will appear in custody at Bexley Magistrates' Court on December 14.

Aron is thought to have been a past student at John Roan school and friends and family have described him as a "lovely boy taken too soon".

Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith said: "While we continue to work to piece together the events that led to Aron's murder, I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Topham House in Prior Street from around 9.15pm to contact police.

"We believe Aron was attacked inside the flat where he was residing in Topham House so I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who let someone into the building prior to the murder or who saw anyone fleeing the scene."
